The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, on Tuesday led a protest in Abuja, calling for the removal of President Bola Tinubu from office.
Sowore and other demonstrators were seen in a video marching through parts of the Federal Capital Territory while chanting, “Tinubu must go.”
The protesters also carried placards displaying the President’s photograph alongside messages demanding his exit from office.
The demonstration is the latest public action by Sowore against the Tinubu administration, which he has consistently criticised over its policies and governance.
Sowore is currently standing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja in a case instituted by the Department of State Services.
He is facing two counts relating to alleged cyberstalking and criminal defamation over social media posts he made in August 2025.
In the posts, the AAC chieftain referred to President Tinubu as a “criminal”, prompting the DSS to initiate legal proceedings against him under the amended Cybercrimes Act.
