Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has led members of the All Progressives Congress in the state to formally commence the campaign of the party’s Ondo Central Senatorial candidate, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, in Idanre.
The campaign flag-off, held at the Depot Roundabout in Idanre, attracted party leaders, supporters and other stakeholders, who gathered to rally support for the candidate.
Aiyedatiwa, who is the APC leader in Ondo State, used the occasion to appeal to members to maintain unity and work together towards the success of the party in the forthcoming elections.
He urged party supporters to give their backing to all APC candidates, stressing the importance of cohesion among members as the election season gathers momentum.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the party’s candidates to the gathering by Aiyedatiwa, signalling the formal commencement of campaign activities in the senatorial district.
Speaking at the rally, the state APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, reiterated the party’s position against activities capable of undermining its candidates during the elections.
Babatunde said the party expected its members to remain loyal to the APC and support its candidates across the various elective positions, from the presidential contest to the state legislature.
The event ended on a celebratory note, with party supporters expressing their support for Adegbonmire and other APC candidates as the party intensifies its mobilisation across Ondo Central.
