Nollywood and Fuji music celebrities were announced on Thursday as members of the campaign council of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State.
The Nollywood celebrities, led by veteran actors Jide Kosoko, and Oga Bello (Adebayo Salami), included other stars Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola, Eniola Badmus, Toyin Abraham, and Bimbo Akintola.
Also, Fuji music stars including Adewale Ayuba, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, and Abass Akande Obesere made the list.
The named celebrities are among dozens of entertainment industry figures named to the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
A report by The Punch said The directorate is contained in the full list of the campaign council released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre on Thursday, ahead of the council’s inauguration on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat, ACME Road, Ikeja.
Toke Benson-Awoyinka will serve as Director of the directorate, with Kosoko as Co-Director and actress Badmus as Deputy Director. Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, is listed as Secretary, and Dare Olateju as Assistant Secretary.
.Other Fuji musicians in the council include Sulaimon Alao Adekunle (Malaika), Akorede Babatunde Okunola (Osupa) and Temitope Adekunle (Small Doctor).
The directorate is one of several structures under the campaign council, which lists Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman and Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman.
