A journey, not a destination

Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*To go far in life, you must make success a journey, and NOT a destination.*

*There is a whole world of difference between a journey and a destination.*

*When you set out to achieve a goal, and your mind is made up that, that set goal is the ultimate, then for you, life becomes a destination, and NOT a journey.*

*After every goal in life, there are other goals ahead. A student who sets out at the point of his university admission to make a First Class by the end of his 4 or 5 years program, must see that target of First Class as a journey, and not a destination.*

*This is because after attaining a First Class, other goals must follow, for instance, either to pursue a postgraduate program, or seek employment or set out to be self employed.*

*Please listen to Apostle Paul speak to us on this subject matter :*

*”Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before”.(Phill 3:13).*

*A man who makes success a destination, will lack the tenacity to go further, after he has achieved something, thereby retiring or resigning too soon in life.*

*Several people in life allow success at a lower level to make them complacent and unadventurous, thereby debarring them from aiming at something greater or higher in terms of progress or advancement.*

*Remember, success becomes an enemy of progress when one becomes self-satisfactory, conceited and chooses not to press further forward.*

*There is more to do at the top, than getting to the top itself.*

*The more a man achieves, the more he should be inspired and encouraged to keep aiming at another level of success right ahead.*

*You can almost achieve anything, if you will allow lower level successes to drive you up in doing something greater and higher in life.*

*Indeed, you can achieve that dream if you persist long at it and you work hard enough on it.*

*For a mind that sees success as a journey, there is a higher propensity to achieve goals after goals.*

*Nothing will stop any man with this type of mindset from achieving his life dreams and long standing goals.*

Do have a great working week ahead. 👍
