Adeleke’s campaign condemns commissioner’s arrest

Osun State

The Imole Campaign Council pushing for the reelection of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has condemned the arrest of the state’s Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin.

The commissioner, who is also a leader of the campaign council in Obokun Local Government, was reportedly blocked while driving out of Ilesa and worked away.

In a Facebook post, the spokesman of the Imole Campaign Council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, alleged that the Commissioner’s driver and security personnel were humiliated before he was taken away. No offence was disclosed to him at the time of arrest, the statement claimed.

He condemned the arrest and called on the IGP to immediately stop what he described as “senseless arrests and alleged abductions of innocent people in Osun State.”

“This abuse of power, intimidation and harassment of citizens must stop immediately. Enough is enough!” the statement added.
