Ondo Governor’s CPS, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan and OSPPC Chairman, Mr Kayode Fasua in the renovated Newsroom
Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the spokesman to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has renovated the newsroom of The Hope titles, published by the Ondo State Printing and Publishing Corporation (OSPPC).
A statement by the News Editor, Mr Adekola Afolabi, said the CPS also donated two air conditioners and a 50-inch plasma television to improve the working environment for journalists in the outfit.
This is in addition to the 42-inch television he had earlier donated to the newsroom.
The renovation aims at providing a more conducive and comfortable workspace for editorial staff and other employees of the state-owned media organisation.
Speaking during the inspection of the newsroom on Wednesday, Adeniyan, a former Chief Sub Editor of the newspaper, said the intervention reflected his commitment to supporting journalism and strengthening media institutions in the state.
He noted that a conducive newsroom was essential for improved productivity, professionalism and effective dissemination of information to the public.
Adeniyan explained that the donation of two brand-new air conditioners and a 50-inch LG plasma television was intended to enhance the welfare of staff and create an enabling environment for quality news production.
He said he remained committed to giving back to the organisation that contributed to his professional development.
The CPS added that supporting media organisations, either owned by private or government, was necessary to sustain credible journalism and improve public access to timely and accurate information.
Reacting to the gesture, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, OSPPC chapel, Comrade Adekola Afolabi, commended Adeniyan, for what he described as a rare act of generosity and commitment to the welfare of journalists.
He said the renovation and donation would significantly improve newsroom operations and boost staff morale, describing the intervention as timely and commendable.
The chapel also urged other well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations and public office holders to emulate Adeniyan by supporting media institutions to enhance professionalism and efficient service delivery.
