All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to prioritise mechanised farming and rural infrastructure to boost agricultural productivity and transform agrarian communities across the state if elected.
Speaking during the APC campaign rally for the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency held at Ibokun and Ijebu-Jesa on Friday, Oyebamiji said agriculture would form the backbone of his administration’s economic agenda, describing it as Osun State’s area of comparative advantage.
Addressing supporters in Ibokun after paying homage to traditional rulers, he expressed confidence of victory in the election, promising to modernise farming through mechanisation.
“I am optimistic that with your support, I will emerge as the governor of Osun State on August 15, 2026. One of my major plans is to develop the state’s economy through agriculture. We will encourage mechanised farming in all agrarian communities to make farming easier, more attractive and more productive,” he said.
Oyebamiji also promised to improve access to markets for farmers by constructing and rehabilitating rural roads.
“We will not only increase agricultural output, but also link farming communities to markets by building new rural roads and rehabilitating existing ones,” he added.
Speaking at the campaign in Ijebu-Jesa, the APC flagbearer assured residents that his administration would ensure equitable distribution of development projects across all parts of the state, saying no local government would receive preferential treatment.
“As I said during our campaign flag-off in Ile-Ife, our administration will not prioritise one local government over another. We are seeking votes across the state, and by the grace of God, we will serve every community fairly and without bias,” he stated.
He also promised to address what he described as the poor state of public infrastructure, particularly schools, primary healthcare centres and road networks.
“On our way here, we saw the level of neglect in public schools, primary healthcare centres and road infrastructure. If elected governor, I will rehabilitate schools and PHCs and recruit qualified teachers and healthcare workers to improve access to quality education and healthcare services,” Oyebamiji said.
Earlier, the APC governorship candidate paid courtesy visits to the Ogboni of Ibokun, Oba Festus Adegboro, the Egboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Moses Agunsoye, and other traditional rulers in the area, where he received royal blessings and prayers for the success of his governorship ambition.
