Try not to be overwhemed

Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*Do your best not to be overwhelmed by things or situations.*

*Each one of us can get to the point that we become so overwhelmed beyond our natural and personal capacities.*

*At this point, everything becomes dangerous, and such could become counter productive to our well-being and wellness. Another thing you must realize is that nobody is immune against being overwhelmed.*

*Hear out Apostle Paul, the great Apostle Paul when he came under tough and grevious overwhelming situation in the journey of ministry :*

*2 Corinthians 1: [8]For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life.*

*Apostle Paul and his team faced so much overwhelming troubles in Asia that they despaired life.*

*You that is reading this Reflection may be going through your own season of overwhelming experiences, hence you need to be careful.*

*Please note that overwhelming moments are moments of life that you must be very careful about. It is that tipping point that your capacity and system is shouting :*

*”I can’t take it anymore”.*

*Note that a man can be overwhelmed to the point of asking that his very mission and purpose in life be aborted (Matt 26:39).*

*In fact, a man can be overwhelmed to a level that he denies his best friend and family members (Lk 22:55-60)*

*Indeed, a man can be overwhelmed to the point of demanding he wants to die altogether (1Kg 19:2-4).*

*It is even far worse and dangerous for you to _deny that you are overwhelmed_, when indeed you are. It is a quick way of ending the whole stress of life with catastrophic consequences.*

*Take for example, a feeling of one not having money can trigger a sense of being overwhelmingly worthless in a person.*

*Another is that an experience of disappointment can trigger a feeling of overwhelmingness that is quite intimidating to a person.*

*In whatever situation or circumstances that you may find yourself, and you are feeling overwhelmed, always remember that there is nobody that dies this very moment, that life will not continue for others the next moment. So, relax.*

*There is no office where a person dies, and work stops. Work will keep going on Sir/Ma.*

*There is no church where a pastor dies, and service won’t keep going on.*

*There is no family where a member dies, and life will not continue for others soon, none.*

*With this fundamental fact behind your mind, you must counsel yourself not to be overwhelmed for any reason whatsoever in life.*

*Tomorrow, by the grace of God, we shall be looking at some ways of managing ourselves whenever we feel overwhelmed by situations and circumstances around us.*

Top of the day to you 👍
