Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for what it described as his selfless commitment to strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying his dedication to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflects exemplary leadership.
Its State Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, stated this in a statement issued on Sunday by the APC Director of Media and Publicity in Ondo State, Steve Otaloro.
He said Aiyedatiwa had continued to demonstrate uncommon statesmanship by focusing on consolidating the party’s structures across the state despite not being a candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.
His words, “Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has shown that genuine leadership is measured not by personal ambition but by one’s willingness to work tirelessly for the collective success of the party and the nation. His commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and the victory of every APC candidate is worthy of commendation.”
According to him, the governor’s recent directive for the reconstitution of the quarterly APC Stakeholders’ Meeting across Ondo State to accommodate all critical stakeholders aimed at promoting inclusiveness, strengthening internal democracy and ensuring that every segment of the party is carried along.
Babatunde explained that the stakeholders’ meeting, comprising party leaders from all the 203 wards in the state, has evolved into the APC’s principal platform for political consultation, mobilisation and strategic planning ahead of future elections.
“Our strength has always been our unity. By expanding the stakeholders’ structure to include every relevant voice within our great party, Governor Aiyedatiwa is further deepening internal cohesion and ensuring that no genuine stakeholder is left behind. This is how enduring political victories are built,” he stated.
The APC chairman also applauded Governor Aiyedatiwa’s support for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, describing the initiative as a formidable grassroots mobilisation platform that is taking the achievements and policies of President Tinubu’s administration to communities and polling units across Ondo State.
He noted that the collaboration between the APC and the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would strengthen public engagement and grassroots political participation ahead of the next general elections.
Babatunde further said Governor Aiyedatiwa had continued to complement political mobilisation with visible governance through investments in infrastructure, rural development, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment and economic development.
He specifically praised the ongoing urban renewal programme in Akure, including the construction of modern road infrastructure, beautification projects and strategic flyovers, saying the projects would position the Ondo State capital among Nigeria’s leading modern cities.
The APC chairman also commended the administration’s efforts to improve connectivity in rural communities through the construction and rehabilitation of strategic road networks.
“Good governance remains the strongest campaign message. Governor Aiyedatiwa understands that infrastructure is not merely about concrete and asphalt; it is about improving lives, creating opportunities and inspiring confidence in government. These achievements will undoubtedly resonate with the electorate,” Babatunde said.
The party also described the APC’s victory in the recent Ondo South Senatorial District by-election as evidence of the party’s growing popularity, organisation and acceptance among the people of the state.
While acknowledging that every election presents different challenges, Babatunde expressed confidence that the unity being fostered by Governor Aiyedatiwa would further consolidate the APC’s electoral fortunes in future contests.
He therefore urged support groups, caucuses, youth and women organisations, party elders and other stakeholders to set aside personal interests and work collectively for the success of the APC.
Babatunde said, “The time has come for every member of our great party to subordinate personal interests to the collective objective of securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates. United, we are stronger. Divided, we weaken our common aspiration.
“Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated exemplary leadership by placing the success of the party above personal considerations. His commitment should inspire every APC member to embrace unity, discipline and purposeful mobilisation.
“The victory we seek belongs to all of us, and it is only through collective effort that we can guarantee continuity of progressive governance and consolidate the developmental gains being recorded at both the federal and state levels,” the APC chairman said.
