The Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Ondo State, FEDPOLEL, has moved to review the current security situation within and around the Polytechnic environment.
Specifically, the institution’s security unit, on Thursday held a strategic security meeting with key security stakeholders operating in Ile-Oluji.
The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and safeguard lives and property within the Federal Polytechnic.
It was attended by representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the newly deployed sectional head of the Nigerian Army, Ile-Oluji Outpost, and a representative of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).
As disclosed by the Institution’s Head of Security Unit, Mr. Jide Babayanju, “the interactive engagement focused on reviewing the current security situation within and around the Polytechnic environment, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, enhancing intelligence sharing, and developing proactive strategies aimed at preventing security threats.”
Besides, the meeting deliberated extensively on the need for prompt information sharing, coordinated emergency response, and continuous surveillance of vulnerable areas within the Institution.
The meeting forms part of the Institution’s commitment to maintaining a safe, peaceful, and conducive learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Participants reaffirmed their readiness to work closely with the Management of the Institution to ensure maximum protection of the Polytechnic community amid prevailing security challenges in the country.
