A gathering of dignitaries, traditional rulers, labour leaders, security stakeholders, and community members turned into a grand celebration of leadership, destiny, sacrifice, and service as prominent personalities showered encomiums on the Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, during the public presentation and review of a book chronicling his life journey, leadership strides, and contributions to humanity.
The colourful and intellectually engaging event attracted guests from different parts of Osun State and beyond, all of whom gathered to honour a man widely described as visionary, disciplined, compassionate, and committed to societal development.
The occasion highlighted Dr. Omoyele’s impact in public service, his dedication to community growth, and his pivotal role in strengthening the security architecture of Osun State through the Amotekun Corps.
Delivering the welcome address, the Secretary of the Planning Committee, Aree Olagunju Joseph, expressed profound appreciation to all distinguished personalities and guests who graced the occasion. He described Dr. Omoyele as an exceptionally illustrious personality, a leader endowed with uncommon wisdom, and a man divinely ordained for greatness.
According to him, the event was not merely organised to unveil a literary work, but to celebrate a life defined by resilience, purpose, service, discipline, and divine orchestration. He described the book, The Power Force of Destiny, as a deeply inspirational masterpiece capable of transforming lives and awakening hidden potentials.
He explained that the publication reflects the reality that destiny is not accidental, but cultivated through faith, persistence, courage, vision, determination, and divine guidance from Almighty God.
Aree Olagunju further commended the author for producing a thought-provoking and life-changing work that would inspire countless individuals, particularly youths, to discover and fulfil their God-ordained destinies.
He urged guests at the event to draw inspiration from the message of the book by remaining focused on their goals and pursuing their dreams with diligence and unwavering commitment.
In his sermon, Isaac Komolafe commended Dr. Omoyele for his outstanding leadership qualities and his unwavering commitment to standing for the people at all times. He encouraged everyone present to emulate his exemplary character, humility, and leadership style, citing the biblical principle that “the greatest among you shall be your servant” as contained in Matthew 23:11.
Also speaking passionately during the programme, the Field Commander, Olusoji Akanni, described Dr. Omoyele as “a man of destiny” whose emergence as Corps Commander has brought remarkable transformation and progress to the Osun Amotekun Corps.
Dr. Akanni disclosed that his relationship with Dr. Omoyele dates back several years before his appointment as Corps Commander, revealing that both of them attended the same university and studied the same course. According to him, Omoyele possesses uncommon intelligence, exceptional leadership qualities, and a strong sense of purpose that continue to distinguish him in public service.
He noted that many positive developments currently being witnessed within the Corps were previously considered impossible, but have become realities under Omoyele’s administration.
“He is truly a man of destiny. Good things that have never happened before are now happening. God is with him, and his leadership has brought progress and renewed confidence to the Corps,” he declared.
The Administrative Officer of the Corps, Ojetunde Isaac, also described Dr. Omoyele as a compassionate, accommodating, and selfless leader who consistently prioritises the welfare of the people.
He praised the Corps Commander for his sacrifice, generosity, and dedication to service, stating that he remains steadfast in difficult and favourable times alike.
“In the rain and in the sun, he always stands for the people. He has a very large heart and continues to spend his resources and time for the growth of others and the progress of society,” he said.
According to him, the occasion marked the beginning of greater recognition and success for Dr. Omoyele, stressing that genuine service to humanity naturally attracts honour and appreciation.
The book review session was handled by the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Christopher Arapasopo, who delivered an extensive analysis of the book and its significance to society, especially for young people seeking inspiration and direction in life.
Arapasopo explained that the book vividly captures the life journey, challenges, achievements, sacrifices, and resilience of Dr. Omoyele, portraying how destiny, perseverance, discipline, and dedication can shape a successful and impactful life.
He described the Corps Commander as a hardworking and accommodating leader who remains committed to serving the people regardless of prevailing circumstances.
“This book speaks about his good deeds, his challenges, and how he overcame them. It shows clearly how destiny works in the life of a determined individual,” he stated.
The labour leader further recommended that the book should be digitised and made available online to enable wider accessibility for readers across Nigeria and beyond.
The occasion also witnessed royal blessings and commendations from the Olufon of Ifon-Osun, Oba Isola Peter Ipadelola, who applauded both the reviewer and the Corps Commander for their immense contributions to society.
The monarch praised Comrade Arapasopo for his continued advocacy for the welfare of workers in Osun State and recounted his long-standing relationship with Dr. Omoyele.
Oba Ipadelola described the Corps Commander as a dependable and resourceful personality whose physical appearance belies his enormous influence and capacity.
“This short man people talk about — they always say, ‘Go and meet Omoyele.’ Small body, big engine,” the monarch humorously remarked, drawing loud applause and laughter from guests.
He congratulated the Osun Amotekun Corps for having such a committed leader and advised officers within the Corps to tap into his wealth of experience and leadership qualities for greater institutional development.
In his emotional response, Dr. Omoyele expressed profound gratitude to the organisers of the programme, traditional rulers, government representatives, security stakeholders, colleagues, friends, and all distinguished guests who honoured him with their presence.
He specifically acknowledged the presence of his wife, Omolola Omoyele, the Olufon of Ifon-Osun, representatives of the Osun State Government, the Sango of Africa, Field Commander Dr. Capt. Olusoji Akanni, the Corps Legal Adviser Barrister Oyedele Akintayo, guest preacher Dr. Isaac Komolafe, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, ambassadors, Area Commanders, Heads of Departments, Local Government Commanders, operatives, and numerous dignitaries.
Dr. Omoyele revealed that he was initially unaware of the programme and only became informed shortly before the event after noticing unusual arrangements around him. According to him, the organisers intentionally kept the programme secret as a surprise package in his honour.
“I truly appreciate everyone who travelled from far and near to honour me today. I was only informed recently because the organisers wanted it to be a surprise,” he said.
Delivering a reflective and motivational speech, Dr. Omoyele encouraged young people not to abandon their dreams because of temporary setbacks, criticism, hardship, or disappointment. He stressed that every individual carries within them the seed of greatness and that destiny often unfolds through challenges rather than comfort.
“This book reminds us that regardless of our background, challenges, or present circumstances, every individual carries within them the seed of greatness,” he declared.
The Corps Commander described leadership as a divine call to sacrifice, courage, integrity, discipline, and service to humanity rather than an avenue for exercising power.
He explained that the establishment and growth of the Osun Amotekun Corps remain evidence that positive transformation becomes possible whenever purpose aligns with determination, discipline, and commitment.
“Our mission has always been to protect lives, secure communities, preserve peace, and strengthen the confidence of our people. This responsibility requires vigilance, wisdom, discipline, and a sense of destiny toward service to humanity,” he stated.
Addressing the growing challenges confronting Nigerian youths, including unemployment, insecurity, economic hardship, and societal pressure, Dr. Omoyele urged young people not to lose hope or underestimate their potential.
“Your present condition is not the final chapter of your life. Challenges are temporary, but purpose is permanent,” he said.
He advised youths to pursue education, embrace hard work, develop strong moral character, and remain focused on their aspirations, noting that success is built on preparation, persistence, and determination.
Speaking further on the importance of literature and intellectual development, Dr. Omoyele described books as powerful instruments capable of transforming society, preserving wisdom, and inspiring generations.
“This book is timely because our generation urgently needs moral rebirth, visionary leadership, and renewed hope. We need voices that inspire courage instead of fear, unity instead of division, and progress instead of stagnation,” he added.
He commended the author for the creativity, sacrifice, patience, and intellectual commitment invested in producing the book, noting that such literary efforts contribute meaningfully to societal advancement and nation-building.
Dr. Omoyele also called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, government officials, and critical stakeholders to continue investing in youth empowerment, education, moral development, and security, stressing that the future of society depends largely on the values promoted today.
As the programme came to a close, guests applauded the inspiring messages delivered throughout the event while many described the occasion as more than a celebration of one man’s achievements, but also a reminder that destiny, discipline, hard work, resilience, and service remain essential pillars for building a peaceful and progressive society.
In her vote of thanks, Rev. Ap. Mother Mrs. Omolola Omoyele sincerely appreciated all dignitaries and distinguished guests who attended the launch of The Power Force of Destiny, describing their presence and support as a great honour to the family and the Osun Amotekun Corps.
