Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*Today, we shall conclude our discussion on the classifications of wealth, and the need for us to know what we ought to know for the purpose of our education, progress and enlightenment in the drive towards fulfilling our glory in life.*

*Please read on :*

*5) THE WEALTHY :*

*The wealthy are individuals who possess a significant amount of financial resources, assets, and wealth, which often include :*

*High-income earnings, business profits, investment and business ownership.*
*Abraham can serve as our example :*
*Genesis 13:2 : And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.*

*Abraham was so wealthy that there were enough servants in his household to form a team of soldiers that fought and got his nephew Lot and his family delivered from the captivity of people that conquered them :*

*Genesis 14 :*
*[14]And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen (318), and pursued them unto Dan.*
*[15]And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.*
*[16]And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.*

*6) THE PROSPEROUS.*
*The prosperous are individuals who have achieved a state of financial well-being and success in their lives.*

*Prosperity at this level can manifest in various ways, including :*

*Financial stability : A secure financial foundation, with a steady income, and a growing net worth, abundance of possessions : A surplus of resources, allowing for investment, savings, and enjoyment of life’s pleasures. It also has within it personal fulfillment : A sense of purpose, happiness, and satisfaction in one’s career, relationships, and personal growth.*

*Isaac is our example in this case :*

*Genesis 26:12-14 :Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.*
*[13]And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:*
*[14] For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.*

*Isaac was so rich that a whole nation envied him.*

*7) THE FLORISHIING:*

*The flourishing refers to individuals who are growing, thriving, and prospering in various aspects of their lives.*

*Psalms 92:14 :They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;*

*Daniel 4:4 : “I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace”:*

*Flourishing can manifest in :*

*Personal growth. Developing skills, knowledge, and self-awareness, leading to increased confidence and fulfillment.*
*Meaningful relationships : Nurturing strong, supportive connections with family, friends, and community. Career success : Achieving professional goals, finding purpose, and making a positive impact on life.*

*Well-being : Enjoying physical, mental, and emotional health, and prioritizing self-care.*

*Jacob is our typical example in this case :*

*Genesis 30:43 :And the man (Jacob ) increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.*

*By the time Jacob was coming back from Mesopotamia to the land of Canaan, of what he had, he sent the following as gifts to pacify his angry brother, Esau :*

*Genesis 32:13-16 : And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother;*
*[14]Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams,*
*[15]Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.*
*[16]And he delivered them into the hand of his servants, every drove by themselves; and said unto his servants, Pass over before me, and put a space betwixt drove and drove.*

*Just imagine, gifting someone with so much, including 30 milch Camels!*

*As you thrive forward in the journey of life, please reflect on these classifications of successes and possessions available to man, and see how far God can take you.*

*Take a second look at Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and the choices these men made, which largely contributed to their success in life. For example, the endurance of Abraham and the sacrifice of Jacob. What about the obedience of Isaac? God told Isaac in the period of famine not to go to Egypt, but to stay, and he obeyed. Imagine the result that followed his obedience!*

Top of the day to you 👍
