Governor Ademola Adeleke has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for approving the rehabilitation of major federal roads in Osun State.

The governor specifically lauded the Federal Government’s approval for the rehabilitation of the Osogbo–Iwo–Ibadan road and the Gbongan–Akoda–Osogbo road, describing the projects as critical to the state’s economic growth and development.

In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke said the intervention would bring significant relief to road users and boost commercial activities across the state.

“I received the news of the Federal Executive Council approval of two key federal roads in Osun State with great delight.

Their rehabilitation will no doubt enhance economic development and ease transportation challenges,” the governor said.

Adeleke recalled that during a working visit to the Minister of Works on October 18, 2024, he had presented the condition of the roads and appealed for urgent federal intervention.

He praised the responsiveness of the Federal Government, noting that the approvals reflected a commitment to addressing infrastructure deficits in the state.

“I applaud the listening ears of Mr President and the Honourable Minister, and I pledge the full support of our government during the execution of these projects,” he added.

The governor further described the development as a validation of the state’s support for the Tinubu administration, expressing optimism about stronger collaboration with the Federal Government.

“We look forward to a more robust partnership with the Presidency in delivering more dividends of democracy to the people of Osun,” Adeleke stated.
