Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, have extended warm felicitations to Nigerian Christians on the Easter celebration.
In statements issued on Sunday via X by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku described Easter as a season of reflection, sacrifice, and divine love.
He urged Christians to use the period for introspection, repentance, and renewal of hope.
“Atiku encourages all Christians to emulate the selflessness, forgiveness, and compassion of Jesus Christ in their daily lives. The essence of Easter is sacrifice and love.
“We must seize this opportunity to show genuine love and compassion to one another,” the statement read.
Atiku, who is also a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, reminded the government of its constitutional duty to protect lives and property and to provide an enabling environment for all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe or religion.
Senator Barau, in a message on his X handle, emphasised the importance of love, tolerance, and national unity.
“During this period and beyond, let love and tolerance prevail above violence, killings, agitations, and other divisive tendencies. Only love and tolerance will make us a great nation,” he said.
He further called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu in his leadership role, commending the president’s policies and actions aimed at advancing the nation.
Barau urged citizens to sustain their faith in God and promote peace, unity, and virtues that contribute to the country’s progress.
