The Chairman of the Governing Council of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Alhaji Abayomi Adegoke, has commended the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, noting that the government has provided billions of naira in support to cooperative societies across the state over the past three years, without political bias.

He spoke on Sunday during the 5th Annual General Meeting of the Iragbiji (Boripe) Baytul-Maal Islamic Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited, a cooperative initiative supported by the Taawunu Islamic Organization of Nigeria.

Adegoke highlighted the governor’s sacrifices, including redirecting personal allowances toward public projects, as a key driver of Osun State’s progress.

He urged residents to support Adeleke’s re-election, stressing that continuity in leadership would sustain ongoing development.

“Based on the developmental projects that Goveenor Adeleke is executing across Osun State, I am very proud of these achievements.

“With the record and sacrifices the governor has made—including forfeiting some personal benefits such as security vote funds to execute many projects—I urge everyone to support him so he can continue this great work until 2030,” Adegoke said.

The council chairman further praised the President General/Amir Taawun, Sheikh Dawood Imran Molasan, for his commitment to Islamic propagation and religious education. He stressed the importance of balancing religious and Western education, encouraging Islamic leaders to prioritize both among their followers.

Adegoke also lauded the cooperative society for its efforts in community development, particularly in establishing schools for vulnerable groups and implementing empowerment programs for members, pledging continued support for these initiatives.

He called on Muslims to take a more active role in politics to ensure they fully benefit from the dividends of democracy.

He urged Muslims not to distance themselves from political engagement, emphasizing that active participation in democratic processes is critical for community growth. “Politics should not be left in the hands of a few individuals,” he said.

Earlier, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdulrasheed Olabomi, highlighted the importance of education among Muslims, urging parents to provide quality schooling for their children. He also called for greater financial contributions from the community to support developmental projects and prayed for continued societal progress.

Delivering a lecture themed “The Role of Muslims in Societal Reformation through Islamic Propagation and Humanitarian Services,” Sheikh Dawood Imran Molasan encouraged Muslims to engage proactively in governance and democratic processes to drive societal advancement.

The event saw participation from political leaders, Islamic scholars, and other key stakeholders.
