*Continuation of yesterday’s Reflection with a focus on the need to understand the story behind the names we bear.*
*The act of knowing the story behind our names will ensure the following :*
*1) Help us live our lives in check, and with better understanding.*
*2) Help us pray better and harder in some situations where we need to. For example, why call someone the child of sorrow if there are no stories behind it all? If you are so called, wouldn’t you work towards changing such a narration about yourself?*
*3) Help in guiding us forward in some critical areas. God deliberately changed Abram’s name (meaning Big Daddy) to Abraham (meaning Father of nations) as a way of reminding Abraham of who he was and God’s promises upon his life.*
*4) Help us fulfill some important aspects of our life journey or story.*
*5) Help us meet some expectations, especially the expectations of the person that so named us.*
*6) Help in opening our eyes of understanding to some things about our destinies, thereby encouraging us to change some narrations about ourselves, if we need to, including the possibility of changing the name we bear or perhaps some aspects about ourselves.*
*Let me however sound a note of warning on this subject matter :*
*Some stories behind our names may not be quite palatable to hear.*
*Yes, some stories may not be edifying at all.*
*Therefore, having heard some of them in part, they are better left behind to allow us seek the face of God, change some things about our character and move forward from there in our journey of life.*
*But where and when we need to do more or act better by the reason of the name we bear, we need to urgently do so.*
Top of the day to you 👍
