2027: David Mark’s daughter joins pro-Tinubu campaign

National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark

Hon. Blessing Onuh, daughter of former Senate President Senator David Mark, has formally joined the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Onuh, a serving member of the House of Representatives representing Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency in Benue State, was appointed National Woman Leader of the Take Action Campaign Organisation (TACO), a pro-Tinubu advocacy group.

Her appointment was announced by the Director-General of TACO, Hon. Tony Nwulu, during a brief ceremony at the organisation’s campaign office in Abuja, where she received her letter of appointment.

She pledged to work tirelessly to ensure President Tinubu’s victory at the upcoming election while aligning herself to the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The development is, however, attracting attention within political circles given her family background.

Onuh is the daughter of former Senate President, Senator David Mark, a towering figure in Nigeria’s political landscape and a long-standing member of the opposition.

Mark, a veteran politician who served as Senate President from 2007 to 2015 and later as Senator for Benue South, is the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) — the party adopted by a coalition of opposition forces led by former presidential contenders and progressive political figures determined to challenge President Tinubu in 2027.

The ADC coalition which includes notable leaders such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi was formally announced in mid‑2025 with the explicit aim of uniting opposition elements to prevent the return of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to power.

Although there has been no official reaction from the former Senate President, his daughter’s open alignment with a pro-Tinubu campaign platform signals a potential divergence in political interests within the Mark political dynasty.

The Take Action Campaign Organisation describes itself as a citizens’ platform focusing on showcasing the various achievements and educating the Nigerian masses of the reforms and policies of president Tinubu.
