In commemoration of the forthcoming 2026 National Police Day, and in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, Osun State Police Command has outlined a series of activities to mark this occasion.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the activities align with the theme of the celebration, COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP: “Building Trust,”are aimed at giving back to society and strengthening collaboration between the Police and the people of Osun State.
He said the activities will take place at the State Command, Area Commands and Divisional Headquarters, commencing on Monday, 30th March 2026 with sanitation and cleaning within the metro focusing on the theme of the celebration.
On the same day, the Command’s Directorate of Medical Services will conduct a free medical outreach for members of the public, including families of deceased and serving police personnel, at the Police Hospistal Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
He disclosed that Tuesday, 31st March 2026, the Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips will lead officers and men of the command on a walkathon within Osun metropolis, while Area Commanders outside the metropolis will conduct similar exercises within their respective jurisdictions.
The following day, Wednesday, 1st April 2026, the Command will embark on public sensitization campaigns on electoral violence, ballot snatching, and other related offences. Simultaneously, Divisional Police Officers will sensitize motorists and road users on safe driving practices and compliance with traffic regulations across major motor parks and residential areas.
Furthermore, on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, the Commissioner of Police will present cheques to beneficiary families of deceased police personnel in the Command. The grand finale of the celebration will take place on Tuesday, 7th April 2026, at Eagle Square, Abuja, featuring a ceremonial parade and procession.
The Commissioner of Police describes the National Police Day celebration as a historic and unique opportunity to deepen trust and strengthen partnerships with the people of Osun State.
He called on residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the Police throughout the celebration and beyond, while reaffirming the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property and upholding the rights and dignity of all citizens.
