Self doubt

Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*We all have our self doubts. This is a feeling that you can’t pull through doing something, or perhaps that you are not good enough for a higher thing.*

*Now, do you know that the greatest victory of any man is the ability to overcome his SELF DOUBT.*

*Without any exception, everyone of us will get to his own junction of self doubt in the journey of life.*

*There are times you have a feeling of uncertainty or lack of confidence in your abilities,j udgments, or decisions.*

*It is a common experience that can manifest at various junctions of our human journey.*

*If you don’t believe me, just imagine the following people going through their moments of self doubts :*

*A) Consider our own Jesus Christ at the moment of His own :*

*Matthew 26: [38] Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.*
*[39]And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.*

*Jesus at the most crucial moment of His life and ministry wanted to betray the very essence of His coming to life – just imagine what self doubt can do to a man!*

*B) Look at David during his own moment :*

*1Samuel 30:4-6 : Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.*
*[5]And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.*
*[6]And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters…..*

*C) Consider Elijah going through his own :*

*1 Kings 19: [2]Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.*
*[3]And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.*
*_[4]But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers_.*

*D) Abraham was not left out: one of the greatest personalities that ever lived was Abraham the son of Terah. He was born at Ur of the Chaldees in present day Syria. In his journey of life, he ended up becoming the father of faith, and ultimately the friend of God.*

*At a critical junction in his life, he doubted himself. And he was truthful enough about it :*

*To be concluded tomorrow,God willing.*

Good day to you 👍
