Governor Ademola Adeleke has unveiled an expanded vision for comprehensive financing of security infrastructure in Osun State, aimed at strengthening both formal and informal security networks in the state

This he saud will help to improving the welfare of security personnel across the state.

Speaking at the weekend while receiving members of the Osun State Security Trust Fund during a courtesy visit at the weeked, the governor said his administration remains committed to ensuring that security agencies are well-equipped and adequately supported to safeguard lives and property.

“We have a big vision of well-equipped security services serving the people of Osun State. The men and women of our various security agencies deserve extensive support and care. They secure us; they protect us; we must care for them,” Adeleke said.

He listed key beneficiaries of the planned support to include the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Amotekun Corps, as well as local vigilantes and neighbourhood hunters.

According to the governor, the state is mobilising resources to expand equipment, logistics, and operational facilities to boost the effectiveness of security operations.

Adeleke also expressed concern over emerging regional threats, particularly the banditry situation in neighbouring Kwara State, stressing the need for proactive measures to prevent spillover risks into Osun.

“We must strengthen the security services here in Osun to counter external threats and permanently resolve internal challenges. That is why the Security Trust Fund is critical, and I am pleased with the committee’s progress,” he said.

The governor, accompanied by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi and Secretary to the State Government Teslim Igbalaye, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustained collaboration with security stakeholders to protect ongoing development initiatives across the state.

Earlier, Secretary of the Trust Fund, Femi Oyedipe, briefed the governor on the fund’s activities, noting that a detailed and actionable work plan has been developed to meet the government’s security objectives.

He assured the governor of the committee’s readiness to drive implementation in line with the administration’s vision.
