When two human beings are joined who are unequal in their level of inner, or spiritual maturity, or who do not honestly strive jointly towards a common noble goal, the Law ordains that the more mature one is held back or retarded in his progress.
He may even fall; while he does not help the less mature one, who stands still, or even retrogresses further.
We should note that it is not every more mature human being who can help and bring the one who is less mature to his level. This is rare.
Therefore, everyone who is seriously striving for ascent must watch the earthly union he forms or joins, particularly one of a lasting nature such as marriage, and even friendship.
