A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr Kunle Adegoke (SAN), has asked his supporters to work for the victory of the party’s gcandidate in the coming governorship election, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji,
Adegoke, who contested the just-concluded APC governorship primary, gave the directive on Saturday while receiving Oyebamiji and members of his campaign team at his campaign office in Osogbo.
Addressing members of the K-RAD movement and party faithful, the legal luminary called for massive sensitisation, mobilisation and door-to-door campaigns across the nooks and crannies of Osun State to ensure a decisive victory for the APC.
According to him, the time had come for all stakeholders and organs of the party to put personal interests aside and work in unity for the success of the party’s flagbearer.
“All hands must be on deck to ensure the victory of our party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. This is a collective effort to rescue our state. I am an actor; I don’t give up, but I also understand that in every contest, one person must emerge,” Adegoke said.
He added that he had resolved, alongside members of his campaign team, to work fully for Oyebamiji since his emergence at the party’s primary election.
“I appeal to all of you to see Oyebamiji as our next governor and work assiduously for his emergence. We have met, discussed extensively and resolved that he is our candidate who will lead the APC to victory,” he stated.
Adegoke further appealed to Oyebamiji to run an all-inclusive campaign and governance style, stressing that no effort should be spared in accommodating all interests within the party.
In his response, Oyebamiji expressed deep appreciation to Adegoke for his sportsmanship, loyalty and commitment to the growth of the APC.
“You have been there for everyone in this party. We pray that Almighty Allah will continue to strengthen and reward you abundantly,” Oyebamiji said.
Reassuring party members, the APC governorship candidate promised an inclusive, participatory and non-discriminatory administration if elected governor.
“This coming government is for all. There will be no discrimination. We will integrate and harmonise all groups to achieve our collective goal. No one will be left unrewarded,” he assured.
Oyebamiji added that the party was confident of victory, expressing strong faith that APC would return to government in Osun State.
“Let us remain prayerful and do all within our power to ensure victory for our party. I firmly believe that our victory has been granted by Almighty Allah,” he said.
Earlier, the APC State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, commended Adegoke for his consistency, steadfastness and immense contributions to the party’s development, urging party leaders and members to return to their wards, units and local governments for effective mobilisation.
Also speaking, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, called on party members to remain resolute and work collectively towards the success of the APC in the forthcoming election.
