How to gather, gain and grow wisdom

Reflection for the day

By Bunmi Adebayo

*As mentioned yesterday, we shall today be discussing how to gather wisdom, how to gain wisdom and how to grow wisdom.*

*Please remember our discussion on Monday that “wisdom is basically and fundamentally, the discretionary use of knowledge for the greatest good”.*

*”We also said it is the ability to apply relevant knowledge in an insightful way, especially to different situations from which the knowledge was gained”.*

*”Conclusively, we said it is the ability to make a decision based on the combination of knowledge, experience, intuition and understanding.*

*In the face of the varied definitions above, how do you therefore gather, gain and grow wisdom?*

*The first source of acquiring wisdom by man is the fear of God. This is an age long incontestable and tested position.*

*Please read this :*

*”The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction” – Prov.1:7.*

*Today people want to be catapulted from the level of being a slave and a prisoner to the position of a Governor without looking at the level of the fear of God demonstrated by the original character of this illustrated prayer – Joseph :*

*Genesis 39:[7] “And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.*
*[8]But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;*
*[9]There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”*

*Let it be said loud and clear that there is a direct connection between manifesting the great wisdom of God, and fearing God :*

*Proverbs 2 : [5] “Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God”.*

*All of us must always know that it gives God pleasure when we fear and reference Him :*

*Psalms 147: [11]”The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy”.*

*To be continued tomorrow, God willing.*

Good day to you
