Shun anger in 2026

Reflection for the day

By Bunmi Adebayo

One of the critical requirements for the journey of any given year, 2026 without exception, is your ability to mitigate the feeling of anger in you, when and where such arises -.

There were two brothers growing up together lovingly, with great potential for the foreseeable future.

The call for presentation of what each of them was willing to offer The Creator in gratitude and appreciation of His goodness towards them was what sparked the feeling of needless animosity from one brother against his sibling. Even when it was not one of the brothers who instigated that the offering of his other brother be rejected.

And in a fit of maddening anger, the senior brother stretched forth his hand, and smote his own younger brother by the brute of physical assault!

The narration above is the historical fallout between Cain, the first son of Adam and Eve, and his younger brother called Abel.

With the event above, Cain became the first murderer in the Bible, and by extension, in the entire human history.

LESSON : we must all be careful of our emotional state of anger. There are several people walking around us, or on our streets or in our neighborhoods who are looking very well and normal, but who are having anger issues, and who could explode anytime, anywhere and permit me to say, anyhow.

Please note that people get angry for different reasons, and different purposes. But anger is still anger, pure and simple.

Anger is a strong, and at times violent expression of one’s feelings and emotions. And this is for different reasons.

Only anger could have made a brother turn against his loving younger brother in brute force. Same for a wife turning against her husband, or the husband against the wife, a child against the parent or the parent against the child.

The feeling of anger often takes over one’s mind and reasoning to the point of wanting to do the unthinkable thing, there and then, or later in time.

Are there no ways we can gain control over our feelings and emotions at this type of moments so that we don’t go the way of Cain against his own brother?*

We shall tomorrow, God willing, be looking at some ways of mitigating this feeling and emotion within us.

Top of the day to you
