As Osun State steadily counts down to the August 8, 2026 governorship election, leading political figures in Ede Federal Constituency have intensified mobilisation in support of the reelection of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Bamidele Salam, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, have called on members of the Accord Party and advocates of democracy to redouble their commitment towards sustaining the current administration.
The call was made at an end-of-the-year constituency meeting convened by Rep. Salam and held at his country home in Awo, where party leaders, stakeholders and supporters converged to review progress and strategise ahead of the forthcoming election.
Addressing the gathering, Rep. Salam urged party faithful to act as “Imole evangelists” by conscientising, mobilising and persuading prospective voters to rally behind the Accord Party as the viable platform for continuity of good governance under Governor Adeleke’s leadership.
He emphasised that the achievements recorded by the Adeleke administration across critical sectors within just three years in office provided compelling justification for renewed public trust and overwhelming electoral support in 2026.
In his remarks, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye commended Rep. Salam for what he described as exemplary and people-centred legislative representation, noting that effective synergy between elected officials had contributed significantly to the developmental strides witnessed across the constituency.
Akinleye assured party members that the Accord Party would soon experience a massive influx of new members across Ede Federal Constituency and beyond, attributing the anticipated growth to the visible impact of Governor Adeleke’s policies and inclusive governance style.
Both leaders charged the constituency to take a frontline role in the forthcoming election, stressing that a strong and united Ede Federal Constituency would be pivotal to securing an unassailable victory for the governor.
A major highlight of the meeting was the distribution of food items and cash support to party executives across the 42 wards and four local governments that make up the federal constituency, in the spirit of the Christmas and New Year festivities.
The well-attended gathering featured members of the State Executive Council, members of the Osun State House of Assembly from the constituency, party leaders, and various categories of political functionaries, all reaffirming their unity and resolve to consolidate the gains of good governance in Osun State.
