Students of Osun State College of Health Technology (OSCO-HEALTH), Ilesa, have been directed to proceed on a four-week Christmas and New Year holiday to celebrate the festive season with their families.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Moshood Afolabi, and made available to journalists in Ilesa on Friday.

According to the statement, all academic activities in the college will be suspended from Friday, December 19, 2025, and are scheduled to resume on Monday, January 12, 2026.

In a separate joint statement, the Chairman of the Governing Board, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke, and the Provost of the College, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to both staff and students of the institution.

They encouraged members of the college community to utilise the holiday period to reunite with their families and enjoy the festivities, while also urging moderation in celebrations.

The duo further advised staff and students to remember the less privileged during the season by extending love and support to those in need, noting that compassion and empathy remain the core essence of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

“Let us strive to celebrate the Christmas and New Year in moderation and extend love to our neighbours,” the statement read in part. “This season should be a time of reflection, empathy, and generosity to those around us who are in need.”

They also called on the college community to use the period for self-reflection and strategic planning ahead of the coming year.

“This period should be seen as a time for deep reflection and purposeful planning for the year 2026. Let us refocus and restrategise so that we can enter the New Year with renewed vigour and determination to succeed,” the statement added.
