Aiyedatiwa bags NIS award

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), in Ondo State has conferred an award on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his commitment and unwavering support to the command.

Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, received the honour on the governor’s behalf during a retirement reception for the state command’s Comptroller General, Felicia Anara, in Akure on Friday.

Aiyedatiwa commended the celebrant for her transformative leadership of the NIS, noting that the command thrived under her tenure.

Praising her dedication to fairness and integrity, he said, “She has lived well and associated well with her immediate environment.”

He added that her leadership embodied profound commitment to community principles, noting that under her watch, the Ondo State command not only functioned effectively but flourished, contributing to the safety and development of cities and communities.

“She has been able to transform daunting challenges into stepping stones for success, refining the fabric of the Nigeria Immigration Service. Her commitment to the development of Ondo State has created a more inclusive environment for all stakeholders. Her legacy is a testament to the power of leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to public service,” he said.

While acknowledging that the state would miss her leadership, the Governor prayed that she would approach her next endeavours with the same tenacity and vision that have marked her career. He assured that the state government would continue to support the Nigeria Immigration Service.

In his goodwill message, OSOPADEC Chairman, Biyi Poroye, described the celebrant as a woman of good heart, noting her establishment of a standard crèche within the institution for the benefit of the state’s residents.

The representative of the Deji of Akure, Senior High Chief Sola Adegbonmire, praised the celebrant, highlighting that the event underscored the rewards of hard work, reflected in the calibre of dignitaries present. He prayed for her continued health and prosperity in retirement.

Chairman of the event, High Chief Odofin Liso Lobun, and Caroline Wuraola Adepoju GIS (rtd), gave the opening remarks, noting that the celebrant’s achievements speak for themselves and encouraging other officers to emulate her dedication, affirming that “there is always a reward for hard work.”
