A socio-political group, Iwo Development Alliance (IDA) has lambasted Chief Abiola Ogundokun over his attacks on Governor Ademola Adeleke, affirming that Iwo and Osun people will re-elect the governor with massive votes.
President of the group, Adewale Ogunsola in a statement today at Iwo condemned Chief Ogundokun as a politician who has brought no development to Iwo and who lacks the legitimacy to attack the governor who is developing Iwo on all fronts.
The statement said, “We are shocked to read of Pa Ogundokun’s attacks on the governor at a time Iwo is benefitting from the state government through ongoing dualisation of Iwo township road, the first in the history of the ancient town.
“In less than three years, the Governor has constructed six different roads at Iwo, rehabilitated Iwo waterworks, established 20 primary health care centres, and sunk several boreholes among others. This governor is reconstructing Iwo -Ejigbo road and the Iwo -Osogbo road has been awarded to three contractors who will complete the project.
“ Instead of commending the governor who has brought good tidings to Iwo under the reign of Oba Abdul Rasheed Akanbi, Pa Ogundokun is busy playing anti-development politics. Iwoland and Osun people will vote for Governor Adeleke under whatever party platform he is contesting.
“ We are aware that Governor Adeleke is not in alliance with Aregbesola or anybody. The governor is in partnership with God and the people of Osun state. No amount of attacks from selfish politicians can stop Adeleke’s re-election.
“ We apologise to Governor Adeleke for this untoward conduct by one of our fathers. We plead that the Governor should not relent in his support for Iwoland and our progressive king, Oba Akanbi. We remain resolute in our support for Mr Governor”, the group noted.
