2025 Military, Paramilitary Games: Osun Police Hauls 28 Medals

Osun State Police Command has once again demonstrated excellence and resilience as it emerged gold medalist in Football, men’s and women’s volleyball, Table Tennis and other games at the just concluded 2025 Osun Military and Paramilitary Games.

Mr Abiodun Ojelabi, the Command’s spokesman, in a statement disclosed that the police team also won gold in women’s Ayo Olopon and women’s chess events, showcasing their strength and teamwork.

He recalled that the Command sports personnel featured in the 2025 OMPG held between 15th October and 4th November 2025.

Altogether, there were 12 sports activities in which the Command won a total number of 19 gold medals, five silver medals and four bronze medals.

“The OMPG 2025 brought together security agencies to showcase their athletic prowess, skills and techniques, promoting unity and sportsmanship among security agencies. The Nigeria Police Force dominated the volleyball events, while other agencies like NSCDC, NIS and FRSC also won medals in various competitions,” Ojelabi stated.

The state police boss, Ibrahim Gotan, expressed his gratitude while congratulating the athletes for their outstanding performance during the sporting events.

He promised to give them more support, assuring that the Police Command is solidly behind them. He further urged them to keep putting their best.

The CP also expressed appreciation to the organisers for providing a platform that enhances Inter-Agency collaboration and strengthen security partnership.
