AndTop Charity Foundation unveils scholarship scheme

A charity organization, AndTop Charity Foundation has launched its scholarship scheme in a bid to create and ensure equal opportunity for indigent students as well as reduce out,- of- school children in the country.

The scheme is set up by two US – based Nigerians. Dr. Akindutire Temitope(a.k.a Ponto) and Mr. Olawale Temitope who had been for their unwavering commitment to lending hand to the less privileged in the society,especially the young folks.

Speaking at the official launch of the foundation held in Ibadan at the weekend, both Akindutire and Olawale said the idea behind the foundation was to give back to the society and urged well meaning Nigerians to always assist those in needs so that the society could be better for it.

They disclosed that the foundation was committed to contributing towards educational    advancement of the Nigerian child and part of that was awarding scholarship to pupils in primary four to tertiary level.

They urged the beneficiaries of the scholarship to face their  studies squarely and maintained excellent grade as those who failed to meet up would forfeit the scholarship.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Adenike Akinjobi lauded the initiative and described education as a platform that placed both the rich and the poor on the same pedestal. She called on Nigerians to embrace the initiative and find a way of partnering with the foundation.

Earlier, the Director of Operation, Dr.Sola  Gabriel revealed that AndTop Charity Foundation had its presence in ten states which include Ogun,Ekiti Lagos,Ondo,Ogun, Benue,Bauchi states, among others. Noting that the scheme was test- run in. Ekiti state had no less than five pupils were enjoying the foundation’ scholarship in each of the ten affected states. He appreciated the founders of the scheme for the intervention which he described as a rare gesture.

The event which also featured decoration of  some notable Nigerians as Ambassadors of the Foundation and inauguration of the National executive committee and state coordinators had in attendance many dignitaries, among which include the erudite scholar, Prof. Okunade, Prof. James Ameh and the Onikun of Ikun Ekiti, Oba David Olatunde, Itagiorioye, Akorewolu 1.
