Osun, Borno, Lagos lead in INEC’s CVR pre-online registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday released updated statistics on the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), revealing that Osun, Borno, and Lagos states are leading in pre-online registration.

According to data shared on INEC’s social media platforms, the total number of pre-online registrations as of September 21 now stands at 5,385,060, while physical registrations have reached 764,695.

Of the pre-online registrants, 2,799,844 are female, 2,585,216 are male, and 3,604,668 are youths aged 18 to 34. Additionally, 1,354,274 registrants are students, and 114,713 are Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).

For physical registration, which concluded Week 4 with 764,695 completed registrations, the data shows 418,750 females and 345,945 males. Youth registrants aged 18 to 34 totaled 565,927, students numbered 279,172, and PWDs accounted for 10,838.

Breaking down the online pre-registration figures by state, Osun leads with 578,904 registrants (10.75%), followed closely by Borno with 561,666 registrants (10.43%), and Lagos with 530,180 registrants (9.85%).

At the lower end, Enugu State recorded the fewest online pre-registrations with 2,931 (0.05%), followed by Abia with 4,608 (0.09%), and Edo with 9,670 (0.18%).
