No guest kidnapped, Sunview Hotel Akure debunks viral report, says facility safe for lodging

The management of a popular hotel in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Sunview Hotel, has debunked a report trending on the social media that one of its guests was kidnapped, as it assured the public that its facility is safe for lodging.

In a statement, the management described the report which has gone viral, as unfounded, saying that no guest disappeared, or was kidnapped from the facility contrary to the report being circulated on the social media.

Following is the full statement, signed by the Management, and titled:
“Clarifications on unfounded reports regarding missing guest at Sunview Hotel”

“Management of Sunview Hotel wishes to put in proper perspective the concerns and distress that the trending reports on a missing guest have caused our esteemed customers and the family members of the missing guest,

“While we want to assure our valued guests, partners, and the general public that we take the safety and security of everyone on our premises very seriously, a thorough review of our security records, surveillance footage, and incident reports, confirm that no kidnapping incident or any criminal activity occurred at our hotel.

“The missing guest checked in like other participants for the workshop they came for but on the last day of the workshop when others have checked out, it was discovered that his belongings are still in the room.

“However, when contacted, the organizers of the event informed our front desk staff that the guest had to leave for an official assignment and requested that his luggage be removed from the room to avoid additional charges. This is the simple truth behind the misunderstanding.

We prioritize the safety, security, and comfort of our guests, and our hotel operates with round-the-clock surveillance and professional security personnel.

“We are working closely with the family members of the missing guest and other relevant authorities to ensure that the facts are verified and that false information is not used to damage our reputation.

“We kindly request that the public and the media rely on verified information from official channels and disregard these unfounded allegations.
