As Osun Babes FC prepare to depart for Abia State to compete in the 2025 NWFL Championship, the General Manager of Osun State Sports Council, Mr. Ademola Daini, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for the team, urging them to clinch promotion back to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.

In a spirited meeting held on Wednesday at his office in Osogbo, Daini addressed the team’s officials, technical crew, and management staff, expressing strong confidence in their ability to make the state proud.

“The Championship is not just for the Team Manager, Club Secretary, or Head Coach — it is for everyone involved in the team. Unity and collective effort are non-negotiable,” Daini emphasized.

He assured the club that the state government, under Governor Ademola Adeleke and his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, are solidly behind the team.

Daini assured, “Your welfare is a top priority for the state government. The Governor and his Deputy are your number one fans and are giving you 100% support.

“We believe in your ability to return Osun Babes FC to the Premiership. As you go to Abia State, remember you are ambassadors of Osun. Go and show the world your worth.”

He also commended the technical crew led by Coach Wole Animasahun and the entire backroom staff, expressing confidence in their capacity to guide the team to success.

The NWFL Championship serves as a crucial pathway for teams seeking promotion to Nigeria’s elite women’s football division. Osun Babes FC, a historically strong side, is aiming for a swift return to the top tier following previous seasons of rebuilding.

As the team sets off for Abia State, expectations are high, and the hopes of the state ride on their shoulders.
