Departed member of Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Mrs Cecilia Fayase
The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu, GMT, in Ondo State has described the passing of an ex-member of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Cecilia Fayase as a painful loss to progressive politics.
In a condolence letter on Monday, signed by Oyewamide Ojo, its Director of Media, the group said,
“With heavy hearts and tearful eyes, the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT), Ondo State chapter, mourns the passing of a rare gem, Chief (Mrs) Cecilia Ifayase.
The late Ifayase was a towering pillar of progressive politics whose life embodied dedication, compassion and unwavering belief in a better society.
Mama Ifayase’s death is more than a personal loss. It is a wound to the soul of the progressive family in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
Her unwavering commitment to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and her lifelong advocacy for justice, equity, and inclusion earned her a place in the hearts of countless people whose lives she touched.
Her absence will leave a void too deep to fill and a silence too loud to ignore. She was more than a politician.
She was a mother to many, a beacon of hope for the downtrodden and a passionate voice for the empowerment of women and the youth. Her legacy of service, courage and selflessness will continue to speak loudly.
From 1999 to 2003, Mama Ifayase represented Ondo West Constituency I in the State House of Assembly with uncommon integrity and fierce commitment to the people.
Her service as a Federal Commissioner with the Public Complaints Commission further showcased her deep-seated desire to defend the voiceless and uphold fairness.
We in GMT Ondo State mourn her deeply. We stand with her family, loved ones, the APC family and the good people of Ondo Kingdom in this moment of sorrow.
May we all find comfort in the enduring legacy she leaves behind, a legacy etched in compassion, service and true progressive values.
May the Lord Almighty grant her eternal help and may light perpetual shine upon her noble soul.”
