On Friday, June 20, 2025, Hon. Taiwo Olukemi Oluga—a woman of substance, compassion, and quiet strength—marked her 50th birthday. This golden jubilee is more than a milestone; it is a celebration of a life wholly committed to public service, women empowerment, and nation-building.
Born in Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State on June 20, 1975, Hon. Oluga has spent her adult life redefining what it means to lead with both heart and vision. Her political journey has been marked by grace, grit, and generosity—a reflection of her deep-rooted values and tireless advocacy for the marginalized, especially women and the girl-child.
Her academic and professional accomplishments are as impressive as they are inspiring. From a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, to a Master’s degree in Social Work and an MBA from LAUTECH, she has continually pursued excellence. A Certificate in Education from Tower College, London, and her ongoing Ph.D. in Public Governance and Leadership at the University of Abuja, further reflect her unwavering passion for learning and leadership.
From 2017 to 2018, she served as Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Culture and Tourism, where she brought renewed energy to the promotion of the state’s heritage. This laid the foundation for her election into the 9th National Assembly, representing Irewole/Ayedaade/Isokan Federal Constituency—a role she executed with uncommon devotion.
During her tenure in the House of Representatives, she facilitated federal employment for over 50 individuals across Osun State. Each placement was a personal triumph, born from her own experience of struggling to find work after graduation. For Hon. Oluga, every success story is a sacred moment—often marked by rolling on the floor in gratitude to God.
Currently serving as Southwest Representative on the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), she plays a strategic role in shaping the inner workings of Nigeria’s legislature with her experience and maturity.
Her latest legacy project, the Funmilayo Bamidele Oke Memorial Foundation (FBOMF)—named after her late mother—is a testament to her dual focus on the aged and the youth. Through scholarships, health outreaches, skills training, and community support, the foundation is bridging generational gaps and creating lasting impact.
A firm believer in sports as a tool for youth development, she has also invested in grassroots football—unlocking potential and dreams across her constituency.
Her professional affiliations span the globe: a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Management, a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management, and member of both TESOL and the Malaysia Institute of Management. These memberships reflect a global mindset grounded in local impact.
Yet, beyond the titles and affiliations, Hon. Oluga’s true power lies in her humility and unshakable belief in service. She mentors young women, supports entrepreneurs, uplifts families, and champions education as a tool of liberation.
At 50, Taiwo Olukemi Oluga is not just aging gracefully—she’s growing purposefully. A rare blend of elegance and effectiveness, she continues to lead, serve, and inspire.
Nigeria—and Osun in particular—is better because she chose to serve.
