Necessary school materials have been given freely to over 200 pupils in Ila Local Government Area of Osun State as part of the ongoing efforts by the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration to assist struggling families.

Leading the initiative, which kicked off at St Matthew Anglican Primary School, Ila Orangun, is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community and Grassroots Engagement, Hon. Adetunji Ajala,

School uniforms, sandals, bags, and other learning materials were among the items distributed to improve the learning experience of vulnerable children,

In his speech at the event, Ajala said the outreach was inspired by the need to assist parents who are unable to afford basic educational items for their children.

He said that the gesture was in line with the Adeleke administration’s commitment to inclusive and accessible education for all.

“This initiative is about showing love and giving hope to children at the grassroots.

“We are not just giving supplies, we are investing in the future of our communities,” he said.

Also, he called on both public and private stakeholders to replicate similar efforts across the state.

Local leaders and government officials commended the programme, which is expected to go round all the primary schools in the state’s 30 councils.

High Chief Paul Ogurinade, the Ejemu of Ila Orangun, described the gesture as timely and impactful, noting that the support would help to boost school attendance among children in the area.

Also speaking, Hon. Adewuyi Moses, Technical Assistant to the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, lauded Ajala’s dedication to community development and praised the initiative for providing much-needed relief to parents.
