Aiyedatiwa’s election: Tribunal fixes June 4 for judgment

Ondo State

The Ondo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting on Akure will deliver its judgement on June 4, 2025, in petitions challenging the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 16, 2024 poll.

The three-member panel, headed by Justice Benson Ogbu, on Saturday said that the tribunal would give its verdict on all the petitions on June 4, after counsel to the parties in the case had adopted their written addresses.

Ogbu said: “After parties’ final addresses, further proceedings, as agreed by all parties in the tribunal stand adjourned for judgement.”

In the petitions, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi; together with the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), seek to nullify the election’s outcome in which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate as the winner.
