87 stranded Nigerians arrive from Sudan

Eighty seven Nigerians stranded in Sudan arrived the country via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Air Sudan on Saturday.

Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in their official Twitter handle @nidcom_gov, stated that the evacuees arrived in the morning of August 8.

It said that: “All Evacuees will proceed on a 14 days self isolation as mandated by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control @NCDCgov, the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria, @Fmohnigeria and the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on #COVID-19,” it stated.

Announcing via Twitter on Saturday, NiDCOM said the evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 09:15 am on Air Sudan.

The returnees, who tested negative for Covid-19 before departure, are expected to self-isolate for 14 days according to the protocol of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

They are also expected to take another Covid-19 test before rejoining society.
