2027: Tinubu will win all 36 states – Aiyedatiwa

News

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured that President Bola Tinubu would win all Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in the 2027 presidential election.

He said no opposition could stop the President’s second-term bid in next year’s election, noting that Tinubu had saved Nigeria from collapse through his ongoing economic and sectoral reforms.

According to him, the expected total victory would be unprecedented in the country’s political history as no presidential candidate has ever won in all 36 states.

He gave the assurance at the inauguration of SWAGA 2.0, organised by a pro-Tinubu political group, the South West Agenda for Asiwaju, in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Wednesday.

SWAGA is headed by the Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Senator Dayo Adeyeye.

Speaking at the event, the governor said no opposition could stop Tinubu’s landslide victory in the forthcoming poll.

The governor added that because Tinubu had performed creditably in governance, many governors in opposition parties had joined him in moving Nigeria forward.

In his words, “The economy was on the verge of collapse when Tinubu came on board. It was almost collapsing at a time when crude oil was being used to borrow money and naira was being printed.

“So, the work will be easier now for SWAGA, especially with what we have seen in the political space in Nigeria.

“Those who have not joined us do not have a national spread, so we can leave them in their parties.

“What I am trying to say is that the whole nation has seen the quality of the President that we have, and there is no alternative now. That is why everybody has decided to join the President’s party. He is the leader of our party.

“As it is now, Tinubu may be the first president to win all 36 states. As you have come to launch SWAGA in Ondo State, you want to tap into that good fortune. I won all the 18 local government areas, so it is not impossible for the President to also achieve that.”

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of SWAGA, former Senator Dayo Adeyeye, also predicted that Tinubu would win the 2027 presidential election.

He said Tinubu had performed creditably in salvaging the economy since assuming office in 2023, stressing that the President’s performance across sectors would secure him a landslide victory.

Adeyeye added that Nigerians had, one way or another, benefited from the administration’s policies.

He said, “Asiwaju came at the right moment; we were at a precipice, and he pulled us back to the path of development. Let us imagine what would have happened if he was not President today. Nigeria would have gone backwards if he had not taken bold decisions.

“Before, we had incessant ASUU strikes, but now it is a thing of the past. Today, all their issues have been resolved. We are proud to say that the man we presented to Nigeria has performed beyond expectations, and he deserves re-election. His second term will build on the foundation he has laid.”

Also speaking, the Convener of SWAGA, Mr Oyetunde Ojo, said the group had come out again to campaign for the President, stating that he had performed and deserved a second term.

Ojo, a former member of the House of Representatives from Ekiti State, said, “This is a man who has done a lot, and that is why we are coming out to ask Nigerians to assess his performance.

“You can see governors defecting. Did anyone force them? No. Those who did not believe in him before now say they trust him and are joining our party. We have also visited the Deji of Akure, one of the first traditional rulers who supported us about three and a half years ago and said Tinubu would become President.”
